Research Projects

Here are some of our research projects in progress.

The Power of Stories
Stories are being collected that are personally significant to co-researchers for aspects of power that the stories contain within them.

These will reviewed collectively to see what themes are present within the each story and how power is presented through the story medium.

Discussion of the themes will lead to the development of a model of power in our stories. The model will then be further tested for its fit.

Sharing information vs. sharing our information
A comparison test between the sharing of public personal information with our story introductions done by email to this group.

Co-researchers are asked to review two documents; one containing a public introduction, the other containing an email introduction to the group. Then they anonymously answer several open and closed questions in an online form which is then submitted.

This study which will establish what the impact of two very different types of introductions has on individuals within our group. From the comparison test we will see what is useful at the beginning stages of online groups – particularly what is important in introducing ourselves online, and also what is important for the members of groups we facilitate.
